These are the days of My Life - Jungles of Thailand 5 day trip (pictorial)

Eckachai & I performing my first of many offerings to Buddah.  There is a process in order to make an offering of THB20 or about US $.66cents.  you will receive a flower, incense, candle and money stick to present to the temple in order to get your wish granted.  (I wished the bottom of my feet were cleaner for this photo)  HeHe

This is dinner with my Host (Norman) on the right and his neighbors, Eck is taking the photo.  One thing we do well is EAT!!

Making offering to the gods.  It is about a 4cent coin.

Greetings on the large orange swath of material that will be draped on the temple during Holy Days.

This is the temple that the orange swath of fabrick will be draped on...the bolt is quite large, kinda like the roll of carpet at home depot only about 100 times longer.....me & eck being ourselves

The holy man tying a white string around my wrist (for a small THB20=US66cent donation).  I have about a dozen such braceletes as they are good luck to have the giver put it on your wrist for safe travels.  They seem to be working.

Reclining Buddah.....they are everywhere....temples are elaborate and seem to be in every neighborhood.  Facinating, elaborate displays and dedicated following.

No tour bus for me...Eks 2009 honda CITY, like my civic only pimped out with absolutely no suspension....Ouch

The signs are hilareous and some loose translation big time as you will see in a later post.

This is a typical meal that can be found at the local gas station.  Think "On the Run" and add a outdoor restaurant of fresh veggies, meats, and unidetifiable items all plopped on a nice bed of rice.  Delicious.

Floating Market...mostly tourist trap, but also there are the other boats of locals selling, fresh fruit, drinks, full meals.  It is marvelous way to spend a few hours being taxi'd on a well planned little riverway.  SOOOOO Fun!

Tourist hawker along the banks with the lady in the hat in her boat actaully cooking rice in her steamer and providing yummy meals to other boaters (us) as well as the vendors.  Simply Fabulous!

Floating Market signage and the light posts that from the top change from district to district and are all very elaborate and delightful.

Temples are a BIG deal in Thailand.  This one was huge but also very typical of the ornate decorations, number of actual buildings and size of the alters.

View from the top of the Temple.  Rice fields as far as the eye can see.  Breathtakingly Beautiful.

Another temple building....we climbed the one next to this one.  Step class I do not miss...cycling I do not miss...Classmates I miss Ya'll alot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

More temple stairs...all temples must be required to be attached to a side of a hill/mountain as there are always about 300 to 1,000,000 steps to climb up to see the breathtaking views and of course to pay respects to the Buddah.  Lest I fail to mention you also have to come down said number of steps.  Exhilerating...we did them all not to miss the once in a life time chance to experience the wonder, beauty and majesty of Thailand.

ALWAYS....a good sign!

My first experience with the squat toilet.  It isn't for everyone but then again...notice anything missing...several answers....You don't sit you squat, careful of the wallet in the back pocket, sunglasses on your forhead;  toilet papaer anywhere?  nope remember to always shake with the right hand and wipe with the left.  Oh and the bucket is to scoop and flush and of course courtesy requires that you spray the whole lot clean when you are done.  Please don't try this at home...but be prepared if your travel to Thailand!

I am having the Time of My Life.  I wish there was more time to post but I have to go and explore more of the world. Hugs and Luv from Thailand!
