Hungry? ... try some of Singapore's tasty bits.

Light breakfast included at Singapore's Hotel 1929.  that weird chocolate chip looking fruit on the plate to the right is a Vietnamese delight.  Oh so tasty!  Cereal in the bowl to the left.  Not a bad way to start te day.

Well I don't know about the calorie count but this was a Men of Singapore billboard on Orchard Rd, the shopping Magnificnet Mile of Singapore

Yeah the golden arches are everywhere.  This is a McCafe that only servies the ice cream, coffe, muffins and sweets.  Have not seem one like it in the States.

Downpour during lunch, and it was turrential, for over an hour and then done for the day.  Luckily I had a guidebook to read to pass the time.

Don't even get me started on what the hell all that stuff is but let me tell you this is definately a applicable time for "Don't Ask, Don't Tell".  It was all delicious but still not sure even when the name was repeated like three (3) times if I knew exactly what i was putting into my mouth.  Most if not all of it went down ok...and stayed down.  :-)

This is one of the hundreds of food stall eateries all over the city.  It is like attending a State Fair county food court except they are the most popular eating establishments of the locals.  It is usually of Asian inspirations and just like at home it is in Chinese or other writing with about ahundren pictures for those of us verbally/linquistically challenged.  Open early as this is also breakfast, lunch, dinner and late note hang out for the locals to chatt amonst friend and do the business deals.  Alot of business flolks attend the food stalls located in the CBD.

My Breakfast, couldn't tell you but it was all good.  Careful of the sauces, they look tempting but they can be anywhere from sweet to mouth on fire spicy.  Enjoy!

My Breakfast fine dining establishment.  I miss the good old American breakfast.

I forgot to take the before picture.  It was noodles and suasage and the soup had those dumplings filled with stuff...again too afraid to ask as I really am hungry all the time and want to explore the real local cuisine.  If I asked I may end up at mickey D's for their big breakfast and I refuse to enter the doorway other than to snap a pic of the outrageous food prices.

Lunch was ordered via pointing to the picture that looked good...It was a sweet and sour fried fish rice.  It looked pretty on delivery, I was so hungry i forget to take the presenetation picture before diving into devour.  Yes I use silverware sometimes especially when I am alone.  Chop sticks are solely for impressing my host/hostess and giving them the giggles as I attempt not to wear more than I actually eat.  The trick iis just to hold the bowl/plate under your chin and shovel using the chop sticks.  I still make a mess.  Oh one other thing there are no napkins provided. However you can purchase those littel purse size packets of tissues for S$2 to avoid embarrassment.

"Barracks at The House" my Friend Ben's restaturant near the Singapore Botanical Gardens.  Real Ritzy neighborhood just above Orchard Road, the shopping district.  This area is one of few and I mean maybe 3 neighborhoods were there are actual houses.  All the rest due to land constraints are high rise apartment buildings (flats).  these folks are not just waelthy, they are bloody RICH said my cab driver.  Another misconception in Singapore is based on where you are being dropped off.  Again this cabbie thought I must be wealthy because of the restaurant I was going to.  I reminded him of where he picked me up and now I think that my friend Ben may be wealthy from the feedback from the cabbie.

Cider for Supper

Hi Sam!  One of three (3) delicious entree's that he brought to the table.  Once again my hunger pains preceded my brain telling me to take the picture of the food prior to devouring it.  This delectable delight was a pumpkin something with a delicious sauce and toasted nuts..  This was preceded by a delicious seafood dish of mussels, prawns and crab meat.  Which was predeeded by a wonderfully spicy dish of noodles and suasage.  Yes Mickey ate the whole things.  DELICIOUS

Chocolate tort with the most mouth watering, raise the hair on your arm, make your face contort in a good way, eyes roll back n your head creamy filling.  Yes, I did devour a similare piece of Chocolate Cake the night before that Ben brought home from work for us to snack on.

Not sure but it was a tea espresso with a shot of honey.  YUM
