These are the Days of My Life - Egypt

My 10 days in Egypt were amazing. My first night was a travel day so of course i was ready to get to Brothers Hostel and settle in.  The guys there were great and helped me plan tours to enhance the number of sites that I was able to see and have an amazing network of guides that all did a great job of being where I was when I needed them.  My first day was a trip to Giza that literally was just on the outskirts of the city of Cairo.  Amazing to drive just 25-30 minutes and then you leave the city and BAM there is the desert spread out before you and rising out of the semi-flat sand are these amazing structures.  The Pyramid's and a Sphinx.  I opted to originally take a camel ride into the desert for my tour but after about 5 minutes of clopping oh so very uncomfortably, and my guide galloping up on horseback I immediately decided that horseback was a better option.  I still had saddle soar but at least I didn't have a bad back.  The camel sounded fun as of course I am in Egypt but it was the most uncomfortable mode of transportation known to man.  No wonder the herdsmen walk their animals and rarely do you see them riding them.  The only worse mode of transportation is of course the donkey and little kid and men with their legs almost dragging the ground were humorous to watch atop these poor creatures.  As I waited for the horse to arrive I of course had the mode of transportation.photo ops that made the dream a reality even tho ugh i didn't have to endure the entire afternoon on this uncomfortable mode of transportation.  I also felt that getting off for photo's would be easier and I was right.  Let the tourists take this option as a traveler i needed to be able to walk the next day...I still  was saddle sore regardless as the walk on sand and my less than in shape physique was jostled and slammed against a hard leather saddle as we from time to time took the horses for a dead run across the sand.   My equestrian skills were put to the test and i am proud to say I didn't fall off or get thrown.  but...OUCH! the next day I was sore.

Thinking a camel was a good egypt mode of transportation....NOT

This kid on the donkey was having more fun...lol

Pyramids so close to the outskirts of the city

Yeah I look hot...no really it was really, really HOT!

Does this look comfortable?

Yeah me and my proud camel, head up and ready to go lay in the shade..

Lunch break

Hot guide, Ali

Now we are talking...told Ali to get me a good horse...mine is the best...Bravo, no that was the horses name...Bravo

Me, Bravo and the Pyramids

We look hot and we were.  There are three large Pyramids for the Pharaohs, six smaller Pyramids for the wives and kids and one Sphinx.

Bravo and I need a drink.

His donkey was squealing loudly...please just walk for once or let me climb onto your back to see how it feels.

Hi Ho Bravo...good looking horse and rider...lol

Old guy had to get this lid to horl the burrow so he could get on and the donkey was not very happy.

Cool camel dude

So majestic...they are huge, just wait to see...

Ok not that huge that i couldn't jump over them...but...

i could pick them up like little snow cones....

I pushed this one down in the sand a bit...

It was so surreal...I had to ponder the reality of myself in the Egyptian desert leaning on a pyramid.

So Buff....Not...lol

This is illegal, do not try this at home....or at least not when the Egyptian pyramid police are watching.

Checking the landscape for a try for the top...

Where is Waldo?...Can you find me?...near the top

I wore my camo shorts and t-shirt to blend with the scenario.

Now how do I get down?

Bravo moved at my pace cause he knew I wanted to take over 300 pictures...

I was always falling behind...but i had a cute behind to fall behind...lol

How'd they do that?

No hurry....No Worries

My second attempt to reach the top

Not even close...did i say i was afraid of heights...well it's not the going up but the coming down that is a little  challenging.

King of the Pyramid...or is that
Pharaoh ?

I wandered off to take the photos and my Arabian Knight is galloping back with my white stallion.  Ali to the
rescue.
