Watson Bay Coastal Walking Tour

Monday was a wee bit overcast as it rained a little on Sunday evening during the Chinese New Year Celebration.  But no one noticed as everyone was having such a good time.  This week is all outside the city travel to explore areas outside the Sydney city centre.

I took the 324 Bus all the way north to the city of Watson Bay.  There was a coastal walk in the city of Sydney sightseeing booklet referencing a trip outside the city.  I felt an easy 5 mile walk along the coast would be OK based on the weather cooperating and dropping form the previous days 107 to a comfy 87.  The neighborhood is rather upscale as the home are hmmmm...how do I say gigantic with breath taking views.  Some unobstructed and the ocean for as far as you can see.  This is definitely the executive row as there was not a sound of any child, young adult or pram....quite a few dogs out for a run with their Mum's.  This neighbor hood is full of ladies that lunch, their yoga mats and dog parks.  Their is also alot of history along the walk with several areas of historical maritime significance.  None of which I will bore you with here.

What I will share is that Australia being a coastal (Island) continent, there are prominent areas outside of Sydney proper where the building boom is exploding.  Almost all the streets bear witness to the renovation, additions or building of new even more multi-level monster homes on a cliff with breathtaking coastal views.  There are blocks and blocks of homes that are relatively new like within the last 5 years that are one more contemporary than the next it is an extraordinary site to behold.  There is definitely a money stream in the AU economy and these landowners are benefiting handsomely.  My Real Estate background makes me take notice of such things in the residential real estate market.

Gnome and I having a great day!

A view from where the other half lives

Would you want me trekking thru your neighborhood?  Answer carefully or when I come back I will look up your address.

The views of Sydney from the suburbs was spectacular.  The marina's and setting of the homes on the coastal incline made for breathtaking views of the coastal area and the city.
