These are the days of My Life - Beijing, China, Forbidden City #2

Personally i have never been a fan of Asian anything.  I quess the culture, art, design and food was just not my preference.  Being thrust into a world so foreign to me...I have to say I am now fascinated with the many fascets of Asian culture.  It is not so much the history although being a Westerner in the midst of a whole continent of nothing but Asian really has had an impact.  It isn't Chinatown, fun to visit, taste and return to my comfort zone.  here it is all Asian all the time and very few opportunities to remove myself from the in your face reality.  I am learning that personal space although taken for granted elsewhere is really not a matter of reality here.

I just loved the lion lightning rods on the roof.  There were also what appeard to be a warrior in a sled led by what appeared to be ducks and another sled on the roof top eve of the roof in the foreground.  Talk about details.  Impressive.

These are the gardens at the far end gate of the Forbidden City.  My visit wa probably a good 3 hours to wxplore the Forbidden City grounds from front entrance to the back.  Once out the final gate there was a huge Garden across the street that I visited.  It had yet another Buddha Temple at yet another climd that was definately worth the effort.  i will bring you the views in a my next blog.  Stay tuned.

A look at the detailed and decorative eves of each of the buildings.  They were an art form in themselves.  Again...It is good to be Emporer!

Yeah, these aren't tiny buildings.  The peopel look like ants.

People, people everywhere!

View from the final gate to the park and Buddha Temple.  Another climb that will give quite a view of the whole of the Forbidden City.  Would I have missed this...What do you think?  Stay tuned.

My next destination, The Buddha Temple.

Yikes, what a climb.  But sooooooooo worth it!
