These are the days of My Life - Bangkok, Thailand pics of my wandering the city

Now that you know where you are do you know where you are going?  Me Either!

I couldn't believe my eyes...real live gas station attendants.  No self serve here boy's and girl's actual service.  And check out these prices....

I do not promote the company and I cannot figure out the actaul price conversion from liters to gallons but if you have spare time which i bet most of you don't feel free to complete the math and post the US price per gallon.  I'm curious but; I don't do math....my work mantra for those that know me

Oh this explains alot....So....now do you kwon where you are???   Me neither.
5555 = Thai for LOL  Imagine, a teaching moment.

Street food vendor.  This is one of the bigger, multi-cart set ups.  The funny thing about these are they a located some times right on the sidewalk outside restaturants.  Even funnier is that the street vendor tables are full and the restaurants aren't.  Something to be learned here....maybe!

Street scene of the food vendors.  SOme of the streets are ful for blocks of these set ups.  This one happens to be outside a large hospital.  What does that say about hospital food....it's the same everywhere. inedible.

Everyday dining experience in Bangkok, Thailand

Motorbike Taxi's.  I will thrill you with my local transportation experiences in a later blog.

Street scene during lunch hour.  Busy, crowded, noisy, scents of all levels of food, filth and pollution, toatl scensory overload.  Most of it in a good way.

Be wary of the driveway street posts, as you are josteling for sidewalk position they can be quite the attention grabber as they cause one to double over as you walk into them...From experience the pain is more to your pride than your privates.

For you movie buffs, TV series followers you can purchase DVD's for a mere US$0.60/each.  There are so many things that if I was just a tourist rather than a traveler, I would stock up on it would be the DVD's.  Hoever to travel another 9 months witha suitcase full of DVD's is out of the question.  Hmmmm...UPS...where is that number.  Kidding.

Sampling of the tasty street vendor treats.  I have tried it all and although I'm not sure what it all is, NONE has made me ill, NONE has been inedible, ALL has been delicious,  just watch the sauces (HOT to FIRE) = Thai tastes..yummy in moderation.

Biker Taxi's

Street market kaos...take you normal street, add vendors carts, clothes racks, food carts, bedspreads full of items and then add masses of shoppers, office workers, tourists and you have a normal day on the street's of Bangkok.

This is a lottery type game that all levels of Thai's play on a daily basis.  The darker side is that the handicapped are the primary sellers of these gambling sheets.

Yummies sold on the street.

She is someone famous, a singer at one of the shopping malls.  If you figure it out, let me know.

Entrance to Lumphini Park, home of my daily Aerobics practices.

More celebtities of Bangkok.  They may be the Kardashian's of Bangkok...maybe not?

Inside view of food market...this place is about the size a normal parking lot at home.  Pretty good sized, really, really busy.

Wide range of product selection form the street markets.  Maybe 7-11 needs to do a marketing strategy analysis of why locals feel more comfortable purchasing their daily domestic products on the street rather than in their stores???  Well, other than price which seems to be the answwer.  However why can drugs be sold to some countries at $30 a pill, Walmart $4.00/persciption and here well, pennies.  Oh the all needed buck.  So unfair. But amazing how it can be done.

More of the outdoor market...ladies read it and weep...THB$100. 00 buys designer looking clothes....US$3.30...Men read it and weep...there still ain't much selection for us.  But it is still about as cheap.

I hope you stop and enjoy your surroundings as much as I am mine.
