Today marks the 4th day at the Beach...in Barcelona...in November...Life just keeps getting better and better. I didn't think that at this late in the year I would get another beach break..but Mother Nature is smiling down on me. I also want to give a shout out to my Dad, as since his passing in July, I have been blessed to look up in the sky at times of wonder, confusion, or just to see if he is with me and low and behold, every time I look up the moon is out and I know that Dad is with me.
Mom, I tried to get a haircut today but the barber shop that I found on one of the many winding narrow streets of Barcelona I failed to locate today. i know that the shop keepers were thinking this weird tourist in shorts and t-shirt is deranged (not far from the truth) but really i was trying to relocate the barber shop that I even took a picture of to remind me...to no avail...will attempt again tomorrow. This is one of the most fun parts of just strolling around a new city. I hardly ever know where I am, I hardly ever see the same thing twice except today...and I always find something new that I never would have had I not ventured off the beaten track. Ok, so not every street has a pretty clientele but hey, you gotta take the good with the bad. I did not buy drugs from that seedy guy in the doorway or a drink for that very friendly lady. Some streets you just keep walking. One of the meditations that I was taught from my Buddhist meditation training in India this summer was something called mindful meditation while walking. You walk putting one foot in front of the other just slightly and look just beyond the forward foot...for those of you who are clumsy, it will prevent you from tripping on uneven ground and for those who need constraint from tripping over your own tongue. I have basically used the technique as I am forever looking around at stuff and not watching where I am going. It allows me to mindfully keep from tripping over my own feet, the curb, uneven cobblestone, the unique placement of light poles and those weird metal water hydrant height road blocks that are in front of every pedestrian walk that I endlessly have bruised my pride, my shin, my knee or stubbed my toe not to mention the embarrassment of saving the family jewels several times due to the height requirement to ride this ride is just a few inches taller than my inseam...OUCH!
I have just 2 more days, Friday and Saturday in Barcelona before I head to Madrid. I have had so much fun i really will miss Barcelona.

| I'm looking down...what I didn't say I was that perfectly marbled ass on the right, he just was in the shot...lol from the Museum of Art at the top of hill overlooking the Magic fountains. There is a light and water show on the weekends. Quite a view looking back to the mountains that are covered by clouds. |
